About ACFA

The Alberta Cattle Feeders’ Association (ACFA) has set the pace in industry for over 50 years and is the voice of cattle feeders: hard-working, forward-looking women and men who believe in a strong, profitable, and sustainable cattle feeding industry.

The enduring spirit, take-charge attitude, and passion that has united cattle feeders throughout Alberta’s history, are the same assets that keep our industry strong in the face of today’s opportunities and challenges: social responsibility, environmental sustainability, and changing international export markets.

In all things, the ACFA follows the lead of its voluntary membership and elected board. Innovative visionaries, these committed individuals represent the majority of cattle feeders in the province and in the nation.

Strategic Priorities

ACFA collects fees from cattle feeders to meet the needs of the province’s feeding industry though:

National Cattle Feeders’ Association (NCFA)

NCFA membership is comprised of provincial beef organizations from the major cattle feeding regions of Canada. Representation on the NCFA Board of Directors and funding contribution levels are based on provincial fed cattle populations.

The NCFA was established in 2007 to represent Canada’s cattle feeding sector on issues of national importance and to work collaboratively with other Canadian beef organizations to strengthen and advance the fed cattle value chain.

NCFA serves as a unified voice for Canada’s cattle feeders on a wide range of policy issues affecting their competitiveness, such as regulatory reform and reduction of the regulatory burden, growing domestic value-added beef production, and seeking new and expanded international markets for Canadian beef.
